To ensure an effective and efficient collaboration for the implementation of the Ghana Networks of Practice Analytics (NoP) program, a standard detailing the process of engagement between Ubora Institute and other partners including the Ghana Health Service has been established.
The meeting was held July 19, 2023 which took place at the Ghana Health Service Conference Room. The meeting was between the Ghana Health Service team, led by Dr. Andrews Ayim, the Deputy Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PPMED) in charge of Policy and the Ubora Institute team. The engagement seeks to consolidate the discussion between the two institutions on how to work together on the Evidence Translation activity.
The meeting was among others to discuss (i) the scope of work of the Evidence Translation Advisors (ETAs) - ETAs are Ghana Health Service officers designated to support the NoP Evidence Translation work; (ii) process of regional engagement; and (iii) scope and process for Regional Adaptation Workshop.
The meeting was a success as key steps required to conclude these processes were established and approved. The Ubora team was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Ernest Kanyoke.
The Ghana Networks of Practice (NoP) program is a World Bank-led development partners-funded initiative to support the Government of Ghana in the scale-up of the NoP strategy, a key primary healthcare strategy expected to contribute to the country achieving Universal Health Coverage. Other development partners include the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), USAID, GFF, UNFPA and CHAI.
The program is divided into three main components: i.e. design, implementation and Scale-up, Research; and Learning and Adaptation.
The design, implementation and scale-up component of the project is being led by the Ghana Health Service.
The research components is by Dodowa Health Research Centre and consortiums such as, Kintampo Health Research Centre, and Navrongo Health Research Centre; IQVIA, in consortium with UG School of Public Health and Nippon Telegraph Telephone Data (NTT) will conduct Patient Pathway Analysis and Summative Network Analysis part of the NoP Analytics; Sanigest International, in consortium with Institute for Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) responsible for conducting Service Delivery Indicator (SDI) Survey.
